  • A New Generation of Seminarians
Church services usually follow a familiar pattern of hymns, scripture readings, and a sermon. A new generation of seminarians hopes to shake things up a bit by bringing their Sunday messages into the digital age, with lights, cameras, Web pages and more. Reed Galin reports on a production class for preachers.
  • AIDS Orphan Endeavor
Most 8-year-olds we know go to school, play with their friends and have fun with their families. Life for Whisper Nyadongo of Marange, Zimbabwe, is quite different. Whisper already lost her father to AIDS, and her mother is critically ill with the disease.

Whisper is responsible for the care of her brother Washington, 4. But she finds comfort in the United Methodist Zimbabwe Orphan’s Endeavor (ZOE), supported by The Advance (#982023). The project provides food, clothes and an education to Whisper and hundreds of other children. Your gifts through The Advance brighten Whisper’s life and offer her hope for the future.

  • Best and Brightest
Who will be our future leaders? This video focuses on students receiving financial support through the United Methodist Student Day offering. Your faithful gifts help students achieve their dreams through a college education.
