What is the Episcopal Fund?
The Episcopal Fund is one of the seven apportioned funds of The United Methodist Church. The Episcopal Fund provides economic support by paying bishop's salaries, pensions, benefits and Episcopal office and business travel and meeting expenses. A bishop's task is noble and practical. United Methodist bishops oversee and promote the church's spiritual interests. The Episcopal Fund apportionment provides economic support for these diverse and important tasks.

Are all bishops supported through the Episcopal Fund?
The Episcopal Fund provides support to bishops in the United States and the Central Conferences.

How long do bishops receive support?
While serving The United Methodist Church, the Episcopal Fund provides financial support for active bishops in the United States and the Central Conferences.  Upon retirement, the Episcopal Fund provides health benefits, disability and pension for bishops in the United States and the Central Conferences, as well as travel expenses for official business of the Council of Bishop.

Does the Episcopal Fund provide for the spouses of deceased bishops?
The Episcopal Fund provides pension benefits for the surviving spouses and minor children of deceased bishops in the United States and the Central Conferences.

What administrative costs are covered through the Episcopal Fund?
The Episcopal Fund covers Episcopal office expenses, subject to approval through the General Council on Finance and Administration.

How much money was remitted to the Episcopal Fund in the last three years?
In 2012, $22,386,313 was remitted, In 2011, $20,564,160 was remitted and in 2010, $20,081,550 was remitted.

Can I give to the Episcopal Fund online?
You can not give online to the Episcopal Fund. We hope to be able to offering online giving to the apportioned funds in the future. However, you can remit money to your local church and designate it for the Episcopal Fund.
