The Ministerial Education Fund is one of seven apportionments of The United Methodist Church. It is apportioned among the 63 annual conferences in the United States. As of June 30,  2010, the most recent financial data available, the Ministerial Education Fund had received $5,848,144. This represents 27.81% of our goal amount of $21,032,073 for 2010.

In 2009, $17,174,601 was remitted, in 2008, $17,516,997 was remitted, in 2007, $18,488,162 was remitted and in 2006, $18,602,252 was remitted.

The United Methodist Church is grateful to those annual conferences that faithfully remit their Ministerial Education Fund apportionment at 100 percent. Recognizing the importance of paving the way for future clergy, supporting our current clergy and equipping our United Methodist seminaries, 18 annual conferences remitted at 100 percent to the Ministerial Education Fund in 2008. Those conferences are: Alaska Missionary, Baltimore Washington, Central Pennsylvania, Central Texas, East Ohio, Eastern Pennsylvania, Greater New Jersey, Illinois Great Rivers, Iowa, Kentucky, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma Indian Missionary, Peninsula Delaware, Red Bird Missionary, Rio Grande, West Michigan, and Wisconsin.

The Ministerial Education Fund apportionment affects the quality of pastors serving in The United Methodist Church. Funding quality education in our seminaries is, undoubtedly, our most important investment in the future. It takes money and recommitment to make this happen. It takes you.

Your congregation’s 100-percent support of the Ministerial Education Fund is critical. Lead the way in your congregation. Seize the Moment and Shape the Future of our current and future clergy. Please give generously and thoughtfully to the Ministerial Education Fund. Thank you.
