Black College Fund Status

The Black College Fund is one of seven apportionments of The United Methodist Church. It is apportioned among the 63 annual conferences in the United States. As of June 30, 2008, the most recent financial data available, the Black College Fund had received $3,376,311. This represents 30.7 percent of our goal amount of $10,995,263 for 2008. In 2007, the Black College Fund received $9,840,371.  In 2006, $9,850,753 was remitted to the Black College Fund.  $9,671,637 was remitted in 2005. 

The United Methodist Church is grateful to those annual conferences that faithfully remit their Black College Fund apportionment at 100 percent. Recognizing the importance of historically Black colleges and universities, 25 annual conferences remitted at 100 percent to the Black College Fund in 2007. Those conferences are: Alaska Missionary, Arkansas Area, Baltimore-Washington, Central Pennsylvania, Central Texas, Desert Southwest, Detroit, East Ohio, Eastern Pennsylvania, Greater New Jersey, Illinois Great Rivers, Kansas West, Kentucky, Louisiana, New England, New York, North Central New York, North Carolina, Northern Illinois, Oklahoma Indian Missionary, Peninsula Delaware, Red Bird Missionary, Rio Grande, West Michigan and Wisconsin.
